The objectives of The PROMISE (the PROject Method In School projects through E-learning) project have been to offer a structured and tested method, and use this more widely also in transnational CSCL projects and thus combine different uses of learning strategies and ICT to support the professional development (eLearning) of teachers and the learning outcome of their students. The PROMISE project has its background in two Comenius 3.1 in-service projects: PIST and TRANSPRO, where about 150 teachers from 19 European countries have taken part in the five Comenius 2.2 courses that were the outcome of these projects. Besides having developed an on-line in-service course in six different languages in the PROMISE project other spin-offs of the work have resulted in a Development Guide - a tool with ideas on how you can analyse and organize a school development project. A Method Competence Plan gives ideas and suggestions on how to implement the project method, the use of ICT and other media from the first to the tenth year in the school system. A summary of the results and recommendations from the PROMISE project can be found in the publication: "The Stone in Your Shoe".
